Holy Trinity Church (Igreja Inglesa)

🏘️ Funchal · São Pedro · Funchal

Funchal's English church, built in the early 19th century by Henry Veitch, the Scottish British consul who helped keep political and social harmony on the island in troubled times, for a then very present British community. A square central plan with a galilee front, Neoclassical style, a pipe organ by the gospel side. Services are held in English — a singularity in the Region — and the garden around it is worth a pause.
