Access is not the easiest: you reach it on foot along a cobbled way, one of the first roads that linked Funchal, on the south coast, to Santana, on the north. The reward is a wide panorama over the ragged outline of the north coast, dominated by Penha d'Águia (about 600 m), the boundary between Santana and Machico, with Ponta de São Lourenço in the distance.
