Praia da Banda d'Além (Machico)

Machico's sandy beach, on the right bank of the mouth of the Ribeira de Machico: about 70 m long and 100 m wide, in golden sand imported from Morocco — one of the few of its kind on the island, now one of the bay's most popular leisure areas. Lifeguard in season; cabins, showers, toilets, parking, access walkways and conditions for people with reduced mobility, leisure and sports equipment. Blue Flag 2026. Bathing season 2026: 16 June – 27 September, a supervised beach with lifeguards assured. In a swell follow the flags: red = no bathing.
